I'm always surprised by the freshness and minerality of this white blend, but the 2014 Nelin seems even fresher and more mineral. It's a Garnacha Blanca-based blend with some Macabeo that smells of stones rather than fruit. They play with skin contact and natural yeasts, and the result is a deep colored yellow wine fermented slowly for six months and matured for a further 15 months before it was bottled in February 2016. The palate shows power and elegance with a mouthfeel of a red, focused and clean. This is a tour de force white Priorat for the long haul. When aged, this is the wine René Barbier always goes to for the cheese course. There are 7,400 bottles produced.
