Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2013 Grasberg is from rocky, reddish Jurassic limestone soil and mainly based on Riesling. However, the tropical fruit and citrus aromas remind me of the other 40% that makes up this wine: Gewurztraminer. The 2013 Grasberg is precise and elegant on the nose, where even flinty notes are displayed. Highly delicate, round, finessed and salty on the palate, this wine shows a stimulating tannin grip and a lingering salinity in the finish. The Grasberg is a slightly north-facing vineyard 350 meters above sea level. The very rocky soils cause slow maturation of small berries here, whereas the nearby forest produces a nice breeze, like, for example, on the top of the Bollenberg in Orschwihr (Haut-Rhin).
