The 2013 Grand Cru Schoenenbourg is clear, fresh and concentrated on the nose, with concentrated lemon, lemon leaf and some flinty aromas. Piquant and almost lean on the palate in the first moment, this is a full-bodied, fresh, pure and almost steely Schoenenbourg with a tight structure, lingering salinity and mineral grip. Although it has a charming sweetness, the Schoenenbourg needs some years to develop. However, the 2013 will remain a rather lean, tight and tension-filled wine from a cool, marl terroir.
