Wine Advocate-Parker :
The intensely golden-yellow 2012 Burg is a great, heady, complex, well-structured and age-worthy field blend of classical Alsatian grape varieties grown in a sheltered, south-facing Cru d'Alsace in a coolish, late ripening terroir on colored marl soils with imbedded limestones. Very clear, substantial and elegant on the spicy and slightly smoky nose, the medium-dry 2012 Burg indicates a static charisma and takes its time to open up (aeration highly recommended!). Full-bodied, rich, intense and very elegant on the palate, this massive, sappy, and structured wine is provided with fine tannins and a very long and mineral finish. Very noble and expressive. The Burg combines its dark side with its bright side like all great wines do, says Jean-Michel Deiss. Drink over the next 10+ years.
