Wine Advocate-Parker : Generous and ripe, the 2014 Barbaresco Serragrilli has enjoyed the benefit of a late harvest after a warm and dry month of September. The earlier part of the summer was very cool however. Many vintners took the risk in 2014 and waited for fruit to continue its ripening longer than usual. Nebbiolo tends to show less color intensity and integrity in warm vintages, but 2014 displays beautifully dark saturation instead. The tannins are ample and round and the wine shows dark fruit aromas of black cherry and crème de cassis. The tail end of the wine's flavor profile shows a touch of mineral saltiness. This goes a long way to reset and refresh the palate.
